the bully and the pool

Mary Ryan and I went over to Tim's house yesterday to play in his new pool. Mary Ryan absolutely loved it. But I'm sorry to report that she is a bit of a bully. Every toy Tim had she would grab out of his hand or mouth. Tim got so frustrated with her he needed to get out. She had no problem taking over the pool. In fact, she was loving the solo show! Tim, the gentleman that he is, never got upset with Mary Ryan either. I think I'm in for it.

visit to Maryland and Delaware

We spent the majority of the last two weeks visiting my family in Maryland and Delaware. It was a last minute trip and was a ton of fun. I think we need to make this a tradition for Memorial Day weekend. After spending some time in Maryland with my parents we headed down to Rehoboth Beach, DE where my sister has a beach house. The weather was great and Mary Ryan got to experience her first visit to the beach. She enjoyed eating lots of sand. The water was a little too cold to go in so we'll just have to wait until we go back in August to take her in. Our friends Kelly and Walt came down for a couple of nights which was another last minute call but it so much fun to see them!! We ended the trip back in Maryland at my parents and my mom topped off the visit with her famous crab cakes.

Mary Ryan began to crawl when we were down at my parents house. It's a combination of scooting, dragging and crawling all in one motion. It's quite interesting. She is so advanced :) She also started clapping which is really really really cute to watch.

Nana and Papa visit

Nana and Papa O'Sullivan came out for a visit a couple of weeks ago. It was such a fun time. Mary Ryan was very spoiled that weekend!

sippy cup

i can't believe it! she has figured out how to drink from a sippy cup!!

i have a confession though. she has been playing with a sippy cup for months now. i never could figure out why she couldn't get the water out. well i come to find out i never took the plastic plug out of the area where the water comes out of. oops.

mary ryan and i hung out at the neighborhood park today and she took a ride on the swing for a bit.

9 months

Today Mary Ryan is 9 months old! She had her check up and the stats are:
17lbs, 28 inches long.

She is almost crawling (as you can see from the picture) but hasn't mastered the art yet. {Brian if you are reading this, the shelves need to be secured into the wall asap).

She is eating lots of different foods and there hasn't been one thing to date that she doesn't like. She got really excited when she had a grilled cheese for the first time so that might be up there with the favorites. Lots of fun new sounds. Brian and I are convinced her first word will be 'Bella' since we are always yelling at Bella. The dogs are absolutely loving all the food that gets dropped on the floor. Mary Ryan has learned that if she puts her hand down, they will come. And she thinks it's really funny to do that. GREAT.

Sometimes she gets really annoyed with me taking so many pictures (as you can see from these posted). She actually closes her eyes anticipating the flash. I had to post them because they made me laugh.
