the incident

so pretty much every time brian is away something happens. most of the time the dogs run away, tornadoes decide to appear, i get sick. fun times. so today I was trying to work from home and take care of MaryRyan. I have now proven you cannot do both of these things at the same time. I was busy at the computer thinking MaryRyan was at my feet and when i looked down and didn't see her, I went into the kitchen to find her sitting by bella's food bowl watching her eat. Then I see that she is chewing something. Yes, she was eating her food. It's organic dog food..does that make it any better?

p.s. happy to report she is feeling much better today. hooray for meds!

sunday

the heat wave has finally broken and the weather has been gorgeous. We decided to forget everything we had to do and head to the park on sunday.

i'm sorry to report that maryryan has gotten her first ear infection. i guess that explains the fever and disrupted sleep last week. she is a tough cookie though. her spirits have been relatively good considering the bum ear. she's been on some meds since yesterday and I can already tell a difference today. i think the 13 hours of sleep she had last night helped. God love her and her love of sleep!

it's been an interesting week.

MaryRyan is all over the place this week. She's had a runny RUNNY nose and slight fever every day this week. It might be because it's a thousand degrees outside. Or maybe teeth? Who knows. As I mentioned before, she has learned how to pull herself up. All good except she loves to stand up and jump in her crib which means she has had trouble settling down for bed. And for those who know how I advocate for sleep, I don't really tolerate it all that well. So I just let her do her thing as long as it takes. I'm hoping the novelty of this wears off soon. She also has started crawling like a normal person this week! Just when I thought I was getting jipped, she started. I'm very excited about it. I know everyone says 'be careful what you wish for',but I still think babies crawling is very cute. I love it. I love it. And she just loves to clap which is the greatest. I came home from a long day at work, Brian was traveling, and I walk in to her clapping when she saw me. It's an instant mood lifter!

We were in Boston last weekend for our friend Kelly and Walt's wedding. It was a quick trip but maryryan got to spend some quality time with her nana and papa. We enjoyed a night of lobsters (and bud lights) with the family and our favorite pembroke neighbors, pat and paul.

Happy 10 months!

Well we know she likes to eat and we know she likes to sleep. Yesterday when I was feeding her dinner, she fell asleep on me! This is the second time it's happened. It is soooo funny to watch.

This is one of the quirky traits she has inherited from me..My parents, sister and Katie Lucey Hines will recall that when I was younger I used to do the same thing. Katie used to dread going out to dinner with me and my family because I would fall asleep right at the table.

p.s. We joined a community pool over the weekend. Mary Ryan could of stayed in the pool all day if I let her. This place is great! I'll make sure to bring the camera next time.
